How we use AI in our work.

How we use AI in our work. What we automate, what stays human, what data we share with which models, and our open-source commitment.

We're an AI-forward agency. We built Buddy — an open-source AI Google Ads agent — and use it on every client account. We owe you a clear statement of how we use AI, where the lines are, and what data we share with which models.

What we use AI for

  • Account analysis + reporting. Buddy reads your Google Ads data via the official API, summarizes it, and surfaces issues. The summary is reviewed by a human strategist before it reaches you.
  • Optimization recommendations. Negative keyword suggestions, bid-strategy comparisons, audience hypotheses. Buddy proposes. We review. You approve. Buddy executes with rollback labels.
  • Ad copy + creative variations. AI-assisted writing for headline/description variations, ad copy testing matrices. Final creative goes through a human creative review before launch.
  • Research + competitive intelligence. Business Discovery + ARGUS tools (open source) for company research, profile validation, market context.

What stays human

  • Strategy. What business goal we're optimizing for. Which markets to target. When to scale, hold, or cut.
  • Client communication. Every email we send to you is written or reviewed by a human on our team. We don't auto-respond to client messages.
  • Creative direction. The hook, the angle, the brand voice — humans decide. AI writes variations within the human-set direction.
  • Final execution approval. Buddy never makes a write-change without explicit human approval first.

What data we share with which models

We use Anthropic's Claude as Buddy's reasoning engine, with these data-handling rules:

  • Aggregated metrics + search terms go to Claude for analysis. No PII, no customer email lists, no CRM contact records.
  • Customer Match audience uploads stay between your Google Ads account and Google. We use the API to upload, but Claude never sees the email list.
  • Anthropic's API terms apply — they do not train on API data, and prompts/responses are retained only for abuse review per their public policy. Their terms.

Our open-source commitment

Buddy is open source at github.com/itallstartedwithaidea/google-ads-api-agent. You can audit exactly how it works, what data it processes, and what prompts it sends. If you ever feel we've crossed a line on AI use, you can fork the code and replace us.

How we'll evolve this

AI moves fast. We commit to updating this statement whenever our practices change. Last update: May 22, 2026.
